All of Interior Makeover’s early clients were generated by word of mouth. Today 80% of the company’s clients come from referrals.
The company has grown but the focus has not changed. Excellent design, expedite service, and utilization of existing furnishings. Tamara still goes out on every makeover. The company’s second "makeover" landed her on NBC’s The Today Show with footage of two makeovers in the Washington metropolitan area and a live interview with Matt Lauer. NBC wants her back to do a segment on Later Today January 2000.

History
In 1996, Tamara Jobe founded Interior Makeovers, Inc. After attending Mt. Vernon College’s School of Design, Tamara practiced interior design in the Northern Virginia area for 15 years. Becoming frustrated with the 3 to 12 month lag time involved in completing a project, she formed her own stocking interior design firm.
Tamara, a native Washingtonian, recognized the need of the region’s highly transient population to provide a design service with immediate gratification. In the summer of 1990, she moved from Great Falls, Virginia to Bethesda, Maryland. In the spring of 1996, Interior Makeovers, Inc. was formed.
July of 1998 Interior Makeovers moved to a new facility in Silver Spring, MD. with 5,000 square feet of warehouse space and adjoining offices. This necessitated the hiring of a full time business manager to oversee the office and warehouse. Interior Makeovers receives new furnishings daily from over 200 manufacturers. Tamara attends the International Home Furnishings Market twice a year to purchase the merchandise needed for makeovers. Today an extended length cargo van goes out on every job.
